Psycholytic Ketamine and Cannabis Therapy
“Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.” ~Carl Jung
At lower psycholytic doses, ketamine can unlock emotional blocks and increase self-awareness without the dissociative effects of higher doses.
In a controlled setting with the support of the therapist, psycholytic doses of ketamine can facilitate profound insights as well as deep emotional and somatic release.
How does it work?
Doses are typically administered orally through lozenges, though intranasal administration is practiced as well. The goal of a psycholytic session is not ego dissolution or self-transcendence; rather, it is for a client to experience a non-ordinary state of consciousness while remaining in touch with the present moment, and in connection with the therapist. This allows for a greater sense of support and therefore deeper processing of one’s trauma.
Psycholytic therapy induces an altered state that allows the client to remain in the room and not dissociate. In fact we are often working to repair trauma where dissociation happened, working directly with material at a conscious level. Low doses of both ketamine and cannabis can facilitate a shift out of one’s entrenched neural and behavioral patterning enabling the client and therapist to work from a different vantage point. For instance, someone struggling with anxiety may gain new insight into what unmet needs underlie their

experience. A skilled therapist can then offer prompts and questions to deepen the client’s process without taking agency away. Clients typically report feeling at ease and relaxed yet maintain their capacity for dialogue and awareness of the physical space.
Getting Started
If you'd like to access this approach, I'll connect you with a prescriber who can assess the fit of ketamine or cannabis for you.
We will schedule a three hour timeframe for the psycholytic session. There will be two hours of therapeutic processing and an additional hour allotted for you to be in the space, coming fully back into your body with the assistance of carefully selected music.
When you come to the session, you'll bring your prescription and self-administer the planned dosage. You'll be required to have a ride home from the session as driving same day is not allowed.
This work is completely legal and billable by your insurance as psychotherapy because you are self-administering a substance that is either non-controlled or prescribed to you. I am able to provide you a super bill for reimbursement.
